Mummy and I decided to stop at the “Le Coq” café, which happens to be located right on our street… very handy!!! The weather tonight was nice, with a nice cool breeze, so we sat at an outdoor table to people-watch. It was a cozy table for two and we perused the menu looking for something the two of us could enjoy. Bread and butter arrived which we both enjoyed while waiting for our meal. Mummy also had a refreshing Kir, and I just had my standard l’eau… that’s french for water. Our starter was the steamed shrimp dumplings which I can honestly say were simply divine. The filet of boeuf was next… yummy yummy in my french tummy! It came with a bernaise sauce but Mummy served mine just plain. A side of fries came with it and being AMERICAINNE we had to ask for ketchup… sigh… they just don’t “get” the whole french fries/ketchup thing!!! Mummy was going to skip dessert and then decided NO… let’s DO THIS BIG! So we ordered the flourless gateau chocolat with vanilla icecream! OH MY GOODNESS! I only tasted the icecream but it was soooo packed full of vanilla bean flavor that I was whimpering for MORE and Mummy said, “No Millie… just a taste for you!” But all in all it was a fabulous meal, and when we were finished we went for a LONG STROLL through our neighboorhood to walk off a few of the fries!!! VIVA LA FRANCE. ❤????
