Making Our Own Snacks!

We have several healthy snacks in our ON-LINE BOUTIQUE, the only “store-bought” kinds that Mummy will actually let us eat… but sometimes she likes to give us another alternative.  FRESHLY MADE DEHYDRATED fruits and veggies!!!  We have a very simple food dehydrator and all that is required is to wash the organic foods, cut them into pieces, place them on the racks and turn it on.  In about 24 hours, we have single-ingredient snacks that we LOVE!  Yesterday we cut up pineapple, strawberries and green beans and today… we have SNACKS!  Boy, these things shrivel up into very small bits, but that’s OK… we love them anyway.  And here is a little piece of information that might come in helpful for you.  Some people say that if you feed your doggie FRESH PINEAPPLE, they will NOT EAT THEIR POOP!  I know, that is GROSS.  Apparently, the pineapple helps to break down proteins in the poop which makes it not so appealing to eat… but I cannot say for sure, because we do not eat ours.  Well, I am going to be honest here… I think I’ve seen Katie do it on occasion, but I quickly turned away.  Hopefully it was a phase she was going through or something she saw on NETFLIX, but I’m praying the phase has passed.  Anyway… back to making your own snacks.  It is easy to do and a very healthy way to provide snacks for your furbabies.  When you don’t have time, just remember that WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED in the snack department in our BOUTIQUE!  Just click on BOUTIQUE here on our website, right on the HOMEPAGE MENU.

That’s a very healthy snack! My girls don’t have any teeth anymore so I don’t think they could have dehydrated fruits and veggies.

You should try the healthy “Macaroon” snacks in our BOUTIQUE. They are ery sodt and can be torn into smaller bits to make each piece last longer. Every doggie that has ever tried them has LOVED THEM!

Unfortunately my Tootsie will do the same thing… but she was raised in a puppy mill prison and I guess when you are hungry…. well…… she isn’t now but I think it’s something she just got used to doing so I have to make sure I keep things cleaned up. ugh!

I have a dehydrator too! I like to make fresh treats for the kids! I’ll do some chicken, liver, along with the fruits and veggies.

My pup did the poop thing when she was really little. It FREAKED ME OUT! I read everything I could find about it. I even bought all kinds of chews and such that claimed to stop it. I tried the pineapple thing. She would not eat the pineapple even mixed with food she liked. I was at my wits end. The pineapple did not work. The vet told me it was common for pups to do this but that they would suddenly just stop. I made sure that I kept her poop picked up so that she couldn’t find it. I taught her the “leave it” command, and that worked. She has never even attempted it since. I think now it grosses her out too.
